Russian Salad
Dinner @ Pintxos, a new Spanish Tapas Bar in Shanghai.
The only cold tapas ordered.
And like Russia, it was a frigid delivery.
The mixed vegetable salad was very heavy, and my tapas broke into 2 pieces as I tried to lift it up from the serving plate.
The salad was dominated by the taste of boiled peas.....unexciting and dull. There was a disconnect in taste from salad, to prawn and to black olive. Everything is so 'rough around the edges' in terms of taste, going off in different tangents.
Almost clumsy in many regards.
The only highlight: My mate was introduced to the taste of black olive for the first time and I hope this opens up his interest in Mediterranean cuisines.
