蝦卷 (Fried Prawn Rolls)

The version from "周式蝦卷".

The other big seafood name this part of Anping. (The first being the Fried Oyster Rolls)

Again, there is a long queue, and there was a bunch of young ladies, hmm-ing and hah-ing in front, silly giggling and jabbing each other and slowing everything down. (Really, the menu is right up there, ladies. Do you need to go to the front of the queue and suddenly realise you have not decided what you want?)

A good 20 minutes later, and a lot of dark looks from everyone in the queue, (The whole bunch of idiots dissipated, leaving only one buffoon to collect their orders, running in and out to collect them, mercifully from a separate collection queue. I was tempted to trip her just so they have nothing to eat.) it was my turn.

I was not expecting it. They were in fact, Taiwanese style Tempura prawns. (Another remnant of Japanese influence in Taiwanese cuisine). They were very good tasting tempura prawns but I was kinda expecting a lot more, so getting tempura (the fried batter appeared different) was a little bit of a letdown, especially considering I have to endure a bunch of idiotic hags to get it.
