炭烤虾干贝饭 (Chargrilled Prawns & Scallop Rice)

Dinner @ "两面燒肉" (Duo Yakiniku), a Japanese restaurant inside Taipei Train Station.

It isn't really Japanese rice that was served, although it's quite sticky enough. I do find Taiwanese rice to be a strange 'cross-between' compared to the more nutty and drier Chinese rice and the moist and sticky, almost glutinous Japanese rice. It is definitely sweeter and stickier but yet at the same time, still retaining some firmness and bite.

The prawns were the surprise stars - they were a lot better than I expected - full of chargrilled flavour but yet still sweet, supply and juicy. I love the prawn heads - they were bursting with moreish crustacean and roe buttery richness.

I was so wistful when I was done with the last prawn.
