Budae Jigae (Korean Army Base Stew) BEFORE

Dinner in a Mall Food Street eatery.

A stew with a history closely related to the Korean War. My colleagues explained that South Korea were so lacking in food supply post War that the locals assembled what the western armies were donating in those tough days and combined them together into a big pot of stew.

In each pot, one may find luncheon meat, ham, bacon, sausages, cheese, pasta along with Korean noodles, chilli paste, vegetable, onions, garlic and spring onions.
