土豆排骨汤 (Gamjatang) AFTER

Dinner @ "多乐房" in "Little Korea" in Shanghai.

 

The entire pot spluttered and gurgled for almost 15 minutes. Once it started to boil, the staff told us it's ready to be consumed and by this time, everything has been boiled to a lava-like mess.

 

The broth is thick with the taste of meat, bones and preserved vegetable.....very flavourful and umami and although previous reviews have mentioned that it was a tad salty, there was no issues with it here.

 

I had 2 of the humongous pork ribs, with the meat already almost retired to the fate of falling off the bones. The softened till close to disintegration vegetable were fantastic, having absorbed the full punch of taste from the soup.

 

The biggest disappointment were the potatoes. They came out of the pot starkingly bland as if they have decided to go and strike and refused to allow the flavours of the pot to permeate and infuse in.
