I had a friend in college (hey stranger) who was absolutely in love with that song; and it wasn’t hard to understand why. I remember we would talk about it, write the lyrics to notebooks, pictures and restaurant napkins and think about our own Terrances and Marcuses. Until now, I am still in love with that song and it has inspired me to write some letters—the chickenshit that I am, most of them are unsent, too.
