Pincent's folly

Also known as Pincent's Kiln, Wilder's Folly, Nunhide Tower or Flint Folly, this brick tower was built in 1769 by Reverend Henry Wilder while he was courting Joan Thoyt as a token of his love. Situated to the West of Reading, the tower occupies a commanding position on Nunhide Hill overlooking the surrounding Berkshire countryside.
