Eating Mountain Mahogany

A female bighorn sheep ( Ovis canadensis) gazes on curl-leaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius) at Devil’s Canyon Overlook in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area. The overlook is located just north of the Wyoming State Line in Montana. Mountain mahogany is a favorite snack of the bighorn sheep.
