Haystack Pass

Clouds hang over Haystack Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana. Haystack Butte rises to the right of the pass. Below the pass, Haystack Creek cascades down the mountain in step-like fashion and flows under the Going-to-the Sun Highway before it continues falling downhill. Completed in 1932, the spectacular, 50 mile long Going-to-the-Sun Road bisects Glacier National Park east to west. This view from the highway shows almost all the cascade’s 200’ fall. Notice car on the highway for scale.
