CART WHEEL HUB

A detail of a cartwheel’s pin and attachment to keep the decorated wooden wheel from coming off the main shaft. As a precaution a ring is inserted in the pin to make sure that it would not slip. It also shows the care taken by the owner who keeps the shaft greased and both the metal and wooden parts shiny and clean. Maltese are known for their love of cleanliness when it comes to their property but not that much when public property is concerned. - MALTA
