Calla Deadheads
Deadheads from this year's calla lillies on my back porch. I could let them go, and brought them into the studio, recently, for a few last still life shots. The lighting for this series is one studio light Through the translucent white umbrella, with some fill from stray bouncing light and from a reflector on the opposite side from the main light That main light was kept low to wash across the tops for the texture and leave more 3-D modelling in the subject.
The backgrounds were inexpensive foam sheets from crafts departments, which I selected with Photoshop's "Select/Color Range" tool, and manipulated to taste.
