Pasta night

Last night Stewart finally got the inspiration to whip up some pasta. It has been on his list of things to do for a while and I was pleasantly surprised when he hit the kitchen at 8pm on what would have otherwise been a cheese on toast night. He dug out our pasta maker and the trusty copy of Carluccio's and got busy. I had my head buried in articles but could still hear his nervous giggles as he lost his pasta virginity with abandon. Half hour of playing in the kitchen, saw him stick his head around the corner, grinning, with a small question...'um, how do you knead?' Bless his little socks, could he be any cuter. Though it did prompt me to think about any future sons I may birth and the need to instill in them the bare basics of cooking....

But Stew had a ball and we both caught the cooking bug again and I am starting to drool thinking about all the wonderful things that we could whip up in the coming week. We have made a pact that each of us will create something delicious and interesting once a week. We share the cooking equally but it gets mundane and boring very quickly. So sick of the same old, same old, that I can barely be bothered cooking at all some days. I want to enjoy the art of preparing food again and we want to instill that love into our daughter's childhood. This has been a great start and I will have to step up to keep up!
