St. Louis Brewery
Description: The St. Louis Brewery was constructed on property about two miles southwest of Ellensburg, Washington owned and operated as early as the mid-1880s by Casper Hoffmier and his stepson Frank Groger. The brewery had its own water system. Hoffmier found a sweet water spring which allowed for the production of quality beer. After the 1906 Yakima River flood, Hoffmier moved the brewery into town and sold the building and surrounding property to Mr. LaQuette who later sold it to Carl Clinesmith. Clinesmith used the building for his Evergreen Diary until 1932. The St. Louis Brewery produced 70,400 gallons of beer in 1902.
