City Brewery, Ellensburg

Description: The large City Brewery complex was located on the southwest corner of Sampson Street and Second Avenue at 507 E. Second Avenue. The brewery was owned and operated by Adolph Krulish, 1842-1914, an experienced Austrian brewer. Krulish provided employment to several men and had a delivery wagon which carried his product to his numerous customers of the city and to the Northern Pacific depot for shipment out of town. He made an extra fine Bohemian Pilsner beer which became very popular. During the time of the brewery’s operation, Krulish spent $6,000 for improvements and $3,000 for a new ice plant.
