Langley public library, Whidbey Island, WN

Description: Langley Public Library dedicated in January 1923 to the "Honor and Memory of the young men of Langley and vicinity who served in the World War as either soldiers or sailors." Located on a lot at the corner of 1st and 2nd streets overlooking Saratoga Passage, donated for the purpose by Miss Helen B. Coe, it served as both a library and a community center for several years. Additions were added in 1980 and 1994, but this original building remains largely intact and is listed on the Langley Register of Historic Places.
