Still wrapped in its packaging, the SR 99 tunneling machine’s soil conveyor screw waits to be lowered into the pit where tunneling will start this summer to the west of Seattle’s stadiums. The conveyor screw will move soil from the front of the machine to the conveyor belt that will remove it from the tunnel.
