SR 520 Eastside project roadwork, August 2011
Road construction involves many people working round the clock. This crew member is bringing supplies to the support wall being built at Evergreen Point Road.
From August 26 - 29, 2011, crews closed SR 520 for construction on the east side of Lake Washington. The centerpieces of the work included the construction of a median work zone at Evergreen Point Road in Medina and installation of the third fish passage culvert.
Crews worked round the clock to install the median work zone at Evergreen Point Road in order to begin building the highway lid at that over crossing.
The culvert that was installed this weekend is the third to date. The new, larger culvert will improve fish migration and is the third of eight culverts crossing SR 520 that will be installed between Medina and Bellevue during the next three years.
