I-90 floating bridge repair
(WSDOT, July 6, 2009) A bicyclist traveling to Seattle walks along one of two temporary bicycle/pedestrian bridges built around the I-90 floating bridge construction zone. WSDOT hired General Construction Co. to remove and replace four massive steel expansion joints on the floating bridge. The joints also are in the I-90 bicycle pedestrian path. Crews replaced two joints in the I-90 express lanes in May 2009 and began work demolishing concrete on the I-90 westbound mainline lanes July 6.
