I-90 floating bridge repair

(WSDOT, July 6, 2009) I-90 westbound traffic backs up on Mercer Island the afternoon of July 6 as vehicles are funneled into the I-90 express lanes because of construction. WSDOT hired General Construction Co. to remove and replace four massive steel expansion joints on the I-90 floating bridge. Crews replaced two of the joints in the I-90 express lanes in May 2009. Crews began working on the I-90 westbound mainline lanes on July 6.
