L&N U25C 1509, Thornton, IL

I found this sharp looking U25C siting just outside of Thornton, IL back in late January, 1980. It's train was on hold by the yardmaster at Yard Center in Dolton, just a couple of miles north of here. I managed a couple of shots, including this close up of the 1509. She was one of 25 or 26 that the L&N owned, including several from the Oro Dam Project in California. In fact, the U25C was designed for the Oro Dam Contractors and were the first U25C's delivered. The 1509, not one of the Dam locos, wears the Family Lines paint scheme rather well, don't you think?
