A Consist to Remember

Hard to believe that this was a daily occurrence at Griffith back in the town's railroad glory days. In fact, let's say more like several times a day, the Erie-Lackawanna would roll through town, showing off its impressive locomotive roster. And to me, this consist was even more impressive. What's sad is that stinking bush is hiding two of the more interesting engines. We've got a nice clean U33C up front, and that's the least interesting unit in the consist. Behind it is a SDP45, my favorite EL model. Then, hiding in the brush, is the 802, one of the original SD45 demonstrators. I never got a good clean shot of her, though came close on a couple of tries. Finally, to add insult to injury, here's an Alco C424 bringing up the rear. Oh, what could have been!
