ATSF F45 5902, Winslow, AZ
We were dodging thunderstorms just out of Winslow, AZ, the town made famous by the Eagles. We were traveling west on the famous Mother Road, Route 66, when we spotted a headlight of an eastbound on the famous TransCon, the Santa Fe. You can see that one gully washer had just drenched the area, giving me some quick dry time to catch F45 5902 leading quite a loco consist. There's a GP30 tucked in back there somewhere. I made the stop as quickly as possible not wanting to get soaked. And also, because my traveling companions were not railfans and were threatening to have me committed.
