the beginning of the WILD project - by Theo

A PAINTING

Long-limbed against the languid lake—luminous

on the fleeting space that looms

Innocence & Experience—numinous

Lyca—reborn … reformed

She peers into Huron’s pools cradled in etched limestone—

blue-green in lunar-grey; gentian-sprinkled; cedar-fragranced—

and calls forth her creatures from her vast domain

invisible, inaudible where Imagination has vanished, banished

not here—where Imagination reigns!

Crimson sun-hat a crown and shimmering gold and mahogany curls

rest sweetly against her face and wilt to her shoulders…

her eyes pools for great Huron’s reflections

and as she reaches—slowly, slightly, cupped-palm extended—sunbathed

her frog, princefrog, leapfrog bounds forward at her command

and i paint bluewords, greenwords, aqua, violet—

spectrumwords the colours of pomegranates and grapes

fairies and empresses—

Theodora lifted into God’s great azure apron—timeless

[eep ©] - I wrote this about Theo watching her at Lake Huron almost 7 years ago

...my 16 year old granddaughter's work for her "wild" end-of-term art project for the daVinci program she was chosen for. This is the first part of Theodora's triptych - you can see her working on the 2nd and 3rd in the image 2 before this one...
