Color Cubic

Portfolio of a Portland-based creative design company (Web and non Web). This layout is a little busy to me for the three colomns, but still a simply stunning design, and a great example of a beautiful skinning job on WordPress. I like a lot of their little details - mouseovers for the social networks go to the colour of the logo of that site, their 'marginalia' and treatment of sub headers, post details and all the touches graphic and font nerds love - are plentiful. Really love their design sensibility - elegant work that seems to be influenced by the words of print *and* Web without derivative of both. They've also done something well that few people have succeeded at - integrating their blog with their standard static corporate content (i.e. about and work examples). This is a perfect illustration of how the past - what they've done before - can mesh well with the present - their ample thoughts on design, technology and lots of other interesting topics. A perfect way for a small firm like this one to differentiate itself in a crowded field.

Found via Star St. Germaine's Twitter stream - she's a SF based illustrator doing interesting things on the Web (and other fields) in her own right.
