Le'Saric - sweet indeed
While checking Bust.com, I came across a post on their blog talking about candy, and in particular Le'Saric, who make the mesmerizing caramels featured in the Bust blog post (it's next in my Flickr stream - you have been warned).
Being a chocoholic and someone with a bad sweet tooth, I started looking on their site, and saw this picture - click on the link or read the copy below:
"Bodie Jon Antony Slaybaugh was born October 11th, 2008, 7:28 a.m. at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, Bodie was born early with several complications. We just love this little guy, so every month we will offer a different gourmet caramel for Bodie's fund. Order as much as you would like, we can ship them as gifts or treat yourself knowing your helping out such a "sweet" and courageous little boy. For every 1/2 pound and 1 pound of the Old Fashioned Butter Caramels sold we will donate 25% of the sale to the "Bodie's Caramel~Life is a Treat" fund. Your name will also be included."
What a sweet, simple idea - sweets for a sweet, as it were :) I may not run out and place an order today (well, we'll see - it's still early in the day), but this is a perfect example of a company doing something heartwarming because they're doing it for others - and hopefully profiting from it. It's also a smart, smart decision for a company - chances are when I next need to send a gift, I'll probably use them, because I'll remember their efforts for Bodie, and go out of my way to purchase from them because of it. Now *that's* a company that gets customer service, and how to get customers in the first place.
