Portrait of the artist as a young woman, I guess. Being me, being a surrealist, I of course am holding a tool you use to chip away at old paint. No, I'm not using against myself, although often I am tempted.
The effect was produced by shooting the pic of me in the mirror, with some wayward strands of hair that got in the way. Sometimes the neatest looking photos come out when you're not looking. Yes, it's a completely MySpace looking photo, but a perfect metaphor for living part of one's life online - parts are transparent, other parts more oblique.
