It's a Linnet!

Linnet (Carduelis cannabina)

Thanks to Perseus 1, a paphia, and Dave Appleton for helping me ID this as a Linnet.

There was a small group of them clinging to the undecliffs between Brighton Marina and Rottingdean.

It was slightly misty, and I thought they were Chaffinch till I got the shots up on the computer.

The RSPB website marks this as a Red Status bird.
