I tried out a new table design.
This one may or may not make it into my shop. Some projects turn out well, but take longer time to make than I anticipated. This one was a bit tough, because I have a chop saw, not a sliding chop saw. That means I can do a 4" cut, and I need a longer one. In this case, it meant marking both sides, and flipping the apron sections multiple times, which took forever. It's also difficult to get precision cuts. A tiny bit off on a real table might not make a difference, but a tiny bit off on a miniature one makes a huge difference. My goal is to get a sliding chop saw. If I'm only working in smaller scales, it's not too bad, but even then, I often need a longer cut. I'm happy with the way the table looks, and I may just change the design to make the apron with two pieces on each side rather than one long one. Or, I may just keep this one until I can get a different saw.
