NMBS 1703 @ Arbre π§πͺ

Van woensdag 23 juli tot en met vrijdag 25 juli werden er in de buurt van de onderhoudsbasis van Le Coucou op L94 testritten uitgevoerd met de nieuwe NMBS HLE 1703. Aan de haak van de locomotief hingen er 4 I11-rijtuigen en dat scheelde weer een hoop nabewerking π. Als angstloc bolde dan ook nog de HLE 1823 achteraan mee.
De HLE 17 is een nieuwe generatie elektrische locomotieven voor de NMBS, gebouwd door Alstom. Het gaat hierbij om de derde generatie van de Traxx en er werd een bestelling opgemaakt voor vijftig locomotieven. De eerste vaste order bedraagt 24 locomotieven ter waarde van ongeveer 120 miljoen euro.
De locomotieven zullen kunnen rijden onder 1,5 kV en 3 kV gelijkspanning, en 15 kV en 25 kV wisselspanning. Bovendien zullen de locomotieven uitgerust worden met de beveiligings- en signaleringssystemen ETCS, TBL1+, ATB en LZB/PZB. Hierdoor zullen ze inzetbaar zijn op zowel Belgische, Nederlandse en Duitse spoorwegen. Ze kunnen een maximumsnelheid bereiken van 200 km/h.
Nadat de locomotief in de ochtend van 23 juli vanuit Schaarbeek was overgebracht naar Ath, konden de electromagnetische compatibiliteitstesten onder 3 kV= later op de dag starten - waarbij in de namiddag wel heel veel pauzes werden genomen: zo stond de testtrein tussen 14u en 15u gewoon een uur lang stil!
Maar goed, rond 15u30 zat de eerste testdag erop en keerde de trein terug naar het station van Ath. En tijdens die korte rit konden een groepje bekende spotters de trein in de mooie bocht van Arbre fotograferen.

From Wednesday, July 23rd, to Friday, July 25th, test runs were conducted on L94 near the Le Coucou maintenance base with the new NMBS HLE 1703. Four I11 carriages were attached to the locomotive's hook, which saved a lot of post-production work π. The HLE 1823 also rolled along as the fearsome locomotive.
The HLE 17 is a new generation of electric locomotives for the Belgian National Railway Company (NMBS/SNCB), built by Alstom. This is the third generation of the Traxx series, and an order has been placed for fifty locomotives. The first firm order is for 24 locomotives, worth approximately β¬120 million.
The locomotives will be capable of operating under 1.5 kV and 3 kV DC, and 15 kV and 25 kV AC voltages. Furthermore, the locomotives will be equipped with the ETCS, TBL1+, ATB, and LZB/PZB safety and signaling systems. This will make them suitable for use on Belgian, Dutch, and German railways. They can reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
After the locomotive was transferred from Schaarbeek to Ath on the morning of July 23rd, the electromagnetic compatibility tests under 3 kV= could begin later that day β with numerous breaks in the afternoon: the test train was stationary for an hour between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM!
Anyway, around 3:30 PM, the first day of testing was over and the train returned to Ath station. And during that short journey, I could take a picture of the train on the beautiful Arbre bend.
