“Chandler Bing: Bagels and doughnuts....round food for every mood”
Chandler from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
I have to mention this. Its noon and lunch time. We have seen billboards of Wall Drug for nearly 200 miles. Wall Drug this, Wall Drug that. That was some kind of an advertising blitz about this small town. There is more advertising for "Wall Drug" on I-90 than for Taj Mahal and Pyramids of Giza combined. We were like, what the heck is this place?
Finally we decided to take an exit and see what's this all about. The name of the city is Wall and it has a big Drug store and a shopping complex, hence Wall Drug. The place is little historic but not to the point that you advertise about this town on infinite number of billboards for hundreds of miles on both sides. We went into this big, "supposedly" old pharmacy, had lunch, checked out the "famous" places and got out of there. If any of you are traveling on I-90 and wonder what's in Wall Drug: NOTHING. Don't waste your time over there. I am simplifying this for you by placing it on the map.
But thanks Wall Drug for the donuts.
Wall Drug, South Dakota, July 4 2008. Mt. Rushmore is a good 1.5 hours from here. View Satellite map.
