"Coyote Princess" Pacific Spirit Coyote Walking Along Wesbrook Mall at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver BC 08Apr2010
This female coyote (Canis latrans) decided to walk right past me. So accustomed to humans, her pace was rather nonchalant, and she hardly glanced my way. I had plenty of opportunity to snap off a number of frames. At her closest point, she nearly filled the viewfinder. I had been hoping for a moment like this for over a year, a chance to get a decent close shot of the Pacific Spirit coyotes. And here it happened, on a day when coyotes were furthest from my mind. This female paused by the road as a few cars raced past, then trotted into the brush after her roadkill-collecting companion. I have a few more frames that I will post tomorrow.
I was very glad that I had decided to pause from my windstorm damage survey and switch lenses.
Explored #142. I had no idea this photo would generate so much interest. Thank you all.
