The Photographer - Relaxin' [Epilogue to the Series]
Here we are again.
As I have for every series of portraits of the female face I've done, I take the pose and concept from the series and put myself in the models' shoes. I rather like how this one came out, actually. My relatively new look (about a year into it) feels suitable to me.
I have remarked this before: I rather enjoy this kind of work. I did take a long time after my seventh series, Looking Up, from over a year ago. Part of it was that I wanted to do the Meta Series, but I waited more than two months for a model who didn't log back in to do her return portrait, so I created another series of The Closest.
But now I am back here.
I love coming up with a new idea for a series, but still focus on the female face. I love creating the pose, working out the lighting, and how quickly I can knock out eight portraits. These go much faster than my usual work, and I do like it when I can work fast.
I'll tell you what I like the most, though. I like when I reach out to someone and ask them (and they say yes). I like when someone I do not know at all says yes. I like meeting those new people, getting to know them even just a bit, and being able to show them in the best light I can. It puts me past my usual comfort zone, but there is definitely comfort now, now that I have taken portraits of 56 different female faces.
This series, and the seven others like it, are all about the female face, and they are all about the models.
So here's to the seven new models, making for another fantastic experience!
