ok, i think i've had enough fun with pingpong balls and strobes. well, for a while anyway. :-) this is at Ken 's suggestion. iso 100, 10mm at f/8, composite from several shots at 1.5s exposure, each with 40 strobes at 30Hz. here is the previous attempt.

 

and yes, a proper serve should bounce more than once on the other side.
