Red-banded Sand Wasp

This is a parasitic solitary wasp commonly found on heathlands. The females paralyze caterpillars and store them in a burrow with a single egg.

 

I'm not mad keen on the new updates. I really don't like the new 'justified' view of our photostreams with all the photos crammed together without the sets.
