Imp in the Filmation She-Ra cartoon was this annoyingly odd pig-faced bat-winged creature that was in essence the Orko of the Horde. Given there was already sufficient comic relief in the form of both Cowl and Madam Raz but I digress.
Back in '85 Mattel didn't think they could market monsters to girls and as such the Horde, with the exception of Catra, were all included in MOTU instead. Nowadays Mattel's changed their viewpoint what with Monster High a genuine success.
Anyway, to me this is Imp as was the original Hordak's winged creature accessory. Never meant to be more than a pet if anything and much less a "sidekick".
