The spear is for show of force more than anything, not too mention he could strike a target with it from ten meters away. But don't for a second think he needs it to kill you. No... His brute strength is more than enough to say nothing of the tail. He yields is scaled extermity the way a giant would a tree trunk and with a force that could reckon with such a beast.

Had him sitting around for a week and finally had sec to open him up. I can't stress enough much I LOVE the villains in this line!
