Metrobus 561 & 161, Chislehurst
The shooting events at Woolwich Barracks during the Olympic and Paralympic Games has caused much disruption and diversions to bus services in the vicinity.
Between 16th July and 6th August, and again between 21st August and 6th September, route 161 has not been able to serve Queen Elizabeth Hospital at all, running instead via Woolwich Common. During these periods Metrobus has been operating temporary route 561 to maintain a link between the Hospital and Eltham, Mottingham and Chislehurst. It operates at a 20-minute frequency (30 minutes at quieter periods) using small Darts. 137, a Marshall-bodied example that was acquired when Metrobus took over First London's Orpington operations in December 2007, is seen on the stand at Chislehurst War memorial along with Scania OmniDekka 460 during the afternoon of Wednesday 5th September.
