World Intellectual Property Indicators 2021 Press Conference
Marco Aleman, WIPO Assistant Director General, IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector, speaks at a press conference presenting WIPO's World Intellectual Property Indicators 2021 report to journalists at the UN Geneva's Palais des Nations.
The report found that worldwide trademark-filing activity boomed in 2020, defying a global economic downturn and signaling vibrant entrepreneurship and the introduction of new goods and services in response to the pandemic. It also showed that patent and industrial designs filing activity rebounded in 2020.
