Nimbus-Pendant/Focal Bead

My first dragon focal bead following the ideas in Christi Friesen's book on making dragons in polymer clay. I used Sculpey as well as pearls and moonstone beads with pearl and powder blue mica powder for extra shimmer. Unfortunately my toaster oven is prone to rapidly overheating...none of the purple was intentional. Needless to say, I got one of the ovens designed for use with polymer clay-an excellent investment that I don't regret at all.

The main drawback to the bulk packages of white sculpey (different formula to the white Sculpy in the smaller packages) is that it scorches WAY too easily and is too soft to hold its form when sculpting. Good for prototypes that you don't care too much about but I much prefer Kato Polyclay.
