Kassel - Documenta14 - Marta Minujíns - Parthenon of Books
As Part of the Documenta14 Marta Minujins built in Kassel on Friedrichsplatz the Replica of a Greek Temple, the "Parthenon of Books". About 100,000 of donated books were needed to cover the two gables, pillars, and beams of this exact copy of the Acropolis Temple with forbidden books. The Citizens of Kassel supported the Project "Parthenon of Books", which became one of the Landmarks of the D14. Only Books that were censored anywhere in the World were allowed to be used on the Site.
Above the gable, the green Laser from Horst H. Baumann's laser light Art Work can be seen as a contribution to Documenta 6.
Im Rahmen der Documenta14 errichtete Marta Minujíns in Kassel auf dem Friedrichsplatz den Nachbau eines griechischen Tempels, den "Parthenon of Books". Rund 100. 000 gespendete Bücher waren erforderlich, damit die beiden Giebel, die Säulen, das Gebälk dieser exakten Kopie des Akropolis-Tempels mit verbotenen Büchern bedeckt sind. Die Bürger von Kassel unterstützten das Projekt "Parthenon of Books", welches zum Wahrzeichen der D14 wurde. Nur Bücher, die irgendwo auf der Welt zensiert waren, durften auf der Baustelle verwand werden.
Über dem Giebel ist der grüne Laser von Horst H. Baumanns Laser-Licht-Kunstwerk, als Beitrag zur Documenta 6, zu sehen.
