Sources: Shinners & Mahler's Flora of North Central Texas, p. 302 & 305; www.inhs.illinois.edu/data/plantdb/detail/1894; www.inaturalist.org/taxa/79440-Triodanis-biflora; www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=TRBI2; plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symbol=TRBI2.

Note: iNat identifies this as Triodanis biflora. ITIS identifies it as Triodanis perfoliata ssp. biflora).

Note: Shinners & Mahler's Flora of North Texas keys it out as "pores of capsules near apex." That means that the hole in the fruit is near the top. Also, leaves not clasping to strongly clasping. In my photo, the hole in the fruit is at the top, and the leaves are not clasping.

Note: the illinois.edu website shows photos of real plants and the fruit with the hole at the top. Click through the photos.

Other common names: Small Venus' looking-glass
