10/365: J is for Journey of the Featherless

I'm going to find heaven

I made crepe paper wings

Journey of the Featherless- Cloud Cult

 

This week's challenge at Soulpancake is "art at arm's reach". I made those wings out of cardboard, packing paper, and packing tape. All the items we still have sitting around as we're still unpacking from our big move in the beginning of January. The wings took me a lot longer than I anticipated when I first started making them, but that's only because I wasn't happy with how sparse it looked, so I kept adding more and more rows of 'feathers'. But, I really love the way they turned out and will most likely use them again in the future. I just have to complete the back-side to it so they'll be complete. I also tossed around many different ideas for this challenge. I was going to do a rocket ship because we have tall boxes, but then the boyfriend mentioned the word "journey" when I asked what word I should use for "J" in my February Alphabet. I instantly thought of that Cloud Cult song and knew instantly want I wanted to do. And in case you can't tell, I'm really pleased with the way they came out! :D
