Big Oak Tree State Park and Big Oak Lake 1
Jerry and I went to Big Oak Tree State Park and Big Oak Lake yesterday. The board walk (made of steel...hehehe) had just recently reopened after the park had been flooded when the Bird's Point Levee was blown this spring. It smelled bad...and there was a lot of damage to the walk. Most of the park is still closed.
The lake was low from the dry summer. We decided not to try to fish there, but tried our luck in the borrow pit surrounding the lake. The only bites we got were from mosquitos! After only a few minutes, we ran for the truck!
We did see a lot of big trees, though. And we had a good time.
