Butze, Alta

Erected in 1929, it was one of 86 elevators built that year for the Alberta Wheat Pool. Closed sometime in the 1970s.

It sits on the CN Wainwright subdivision two miles west of the AB/SK border.

The line was established by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (GTP) in 1909 (westward to Edmonton). GTP was nationalized into the Canadian National Railway (CNR) in 1922. CNR later changed its name to Canadian National (CN) in 1960.
