Parisian Sunset
An eastbound Line 6 Metro stops at La Motte-Picquet – Grenelle, station, viewed from Cambronne station.
For those not familiar with "Rubber-Tired Metros" (I was not) the wide tracks on the outside of the rails are for the outer load-bearing/traction-producing tires on these trains. The rails are for guiding the inner traditional train wheels. (I don't think they bear weight in this particular design, though designs evidently vary...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber-tyred_metro.)
I'm really glad we stayed near Line 6, allowing us to start and end our days above ground and get scenes like this.
We were on our way out to dinner at a back-street restaurant called "Chez Gladines", and if you ever find yourself in the area and want hearty (not fancy) french food and lots of it, this is your place. (I had the Duck Comfit.)
