Back to photostream

Some helpful information

For navigating the new Flickr.

- If you want to see someone's profile, send them a Flickr mail, etc, hover over their user icon. Click on the down arrow that appears.

- If you want to edit your photo, delete it, replace it, add it to a set, etc, go to the photo page and click on the three dots on the right.

- If you want to view someone's photostream with the old layout, go to their stream and add this to the end of the url: ?details=1

- If you want to view your stats, go to your profile or photostream, then click on the three dot icon.

- If you want to change who can see your photo or who can comment on it, click on the "show more" link next to the Additional Info heading, bottom right of the photo page. (Because it's so much easier to get to that way! Ugh)

- If you want to have a bigger space for typing you comments, click and drag the little triangle at the bottom left of the comment box (so lame that you have to do that!).

- If you want to know what really pisses me off about the redesign, this article sums it up well.

- Ipernity.com has scripts you can install (if you use Firefox) to import your photos from Flickr. Titles, dates, etc all transfer over. I've decided to start posting to both sites for now. Info on how to install the scripts is here:

www.ipernity.com/apps/gm

Once they're installed, if you're on one of your photo pages, a link appears to import it to ipernity. You just click the link and it's done. To run the script that will import 90 at a time, go to your phototream page, and a link appears to do that.

If you sign up for ipernity, let me know--or just add me as a contact:

Anyone else who has tips they want to share about the new Flickr, please do.
