"...and let the games begin!"

At 8:41 on Wednesday, July 2nd 2003, the International Olympic Committee in Prague announced that Vancouver was awarded the 21st Olympic Winter Games in 2010. On April 23, 2005, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic logo was unveiled. The logo is based on the Inukshuk from northern Canada.

 

Although I now live in Alberta, I grew up in Vancouver and am excited to see the Olympics come to my "home" city. The opening ceremonies begin at 6:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on Friday February 12, 2010 with the theme "To Inspire the World".

 

We're with you Vancouver - Make us proud! Go Canada Go!
