WIT: During a family hike this past year we picked up this uniquely shaped piece of driftwood. It caught our eye because of its anthropomorphic appeal and was the first subject that came to mind for the assignment. I suspended the piece from the ceiling using black thread and placed a piece of black foamcore board as a back drop. For lighting I used an off-camera flash snooted with a piece of paper and held high and to the right. Cropped to better frame the wood and some quick cloning to remove traces of the thread. I also added a bit of a warming filter to the image before posting it.
