Water Tapestry, Mossbrae Falls
Dunsmuir, California
Large on Black until flickr changes things
I learned of this waterfall from other flickr members who have visited here and had to make a stop here on the way to the redwood forests on the coast. This is one of the prettiest falls I've seen in my many years of traveling California. The water comes from springs seeping from above the Sacramento river. A New Age group owns the land that it sits on, but photographing is not a problem from across the river.
There are quite a few really fine images of this falls on flickr, so the only difference I could offer here is the inclusion of the tree branch draping across the top of the falls.
Photo tip: shoot early in the morning before the sun reaches you.
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Exposure: 4
Aperture: f/16.0
Focal Length: 35 mm
ISO Speed: 50
Hope you enjoy this vicarious visit to this special place.
