A storm is on it's way to the Antelope Valley poppy fields.

 

Another flower carpet for you. I just had to come out here again on Sunday because the clouds provide needed drama to this otherwise flat open space. I know of no other locale in California where the state flower blooms in such profusion. My friend Bruce and I had this to ourselves as the fair-weather photographers fled to the comfort of their warm homes.

The "God rays", crepuscular rays, are actually common in this location while storms blow through. This goldfield shot I made a few years ago is another example from this area.
